"My practice focuses on structure balance and instability. I am enthralled by the visuals of mechanical objects and buildings, both new and old. I am drawn to inhospitable settings, and finding the ways these environments connect to my life and the lives around me. I work primarily in painting, with an interest in abstract engineering, complex machinery, and grotesque architecture. Oil paints create rich brush strokes which add movement and life to otherwise vacant spaces. Materials from these spaces have begun to creep into my practice in the form of found sheet metal and recycled wood".
